The only symptoms were a change in "sound". It went from a
"quiet buzz" to a warbly, nasty kind of "growl". Very difficult
to explain, but any sudden change in noise would be a
warning. Bently describes a procedure where you
measure the current draw. As the pump approaches
failure time it draws excess current. Change it BEFORE
it fails!
