The only thing that concerns me, is the actual
switch to relay wiring. Would you need some large value resistor in series
with the switch so you don't accidently fry the wiring you just installed? I
would seem that if you didn't, tons of current would flow through the circut,
and then burn up/burn out your electrical system.
Am I on the right track, or totally wrong?
Well it is good to be conerned, but the resistance of most
of the coils for relays is about 50 ohms, which means the
rela will draw about 0.25 amperes, or about 3 watts. It
is not insignificant, but they are pretty stout, and can
be mounted to a heat sink (metal body part).
