Oscillating RPMs on deaccel

I've got an 89 Audi 100 5cyl.  After starting cold, and getting in to 3rd 
(final gear) on my automatic, and taking my foot off the accel, the RPMS 
start oscillating.  

Anyone know what is the cause or cure?
