AM Antenna - and Mo'Headlights

After the discussion of antennas, I broke the first rule of "car
guys" and checked the Bentley manual. Forgive me, please.....

Hokay. On my 200T, section 91.13 sez: "Audio 100/200 models are
equipped with two window antennas. AM signals are received ONLY bu
the rear window antenna. FM signals are received by both front and
rear antennas, with the radio tuning to the one with the strongest
signal." (So - the guys with the diversity explanations are RIGHT!)

Here the plot thickens. Check procedures are given for front and
rear antennas in sections 91.16-91.19. And guess what - EACH antenna
has a device called an "Antenna amplifier". Must be a signal
booster...and check procedures are given for each. The tests require
only a simple volt/ohm meter, so I will do them this weekend.
Accessing the amplifiers requires removing only the A or D pillar
trim.

ALSO - re headlights......

I received some great posts, including directions on how to build a
complete relay assembly harness. However, one member of the group (a
parts supplier) told me he has sold SIX sets of headlights to owners
who DID melt the reflector-area sockets right out of their headlights
with hot bulbs. Therefore, I will think this over.

Does anyone know of a "rally light bar" which I could get to mount
driving lights driving lights which mounts UNDER the bumper or in
some similar other position which would not require drilling holes on
the top of that beautiful pearl-white front bumper fascia?

I always did want to run a pair of Cibie "Super Oscar" lights on an
Audi. I think I recall their reflective range as being almost 2
miles.......hmmm. Boy, a couple flicks from those would make the
BMW "our driving lights are on to show that our brain cells aren't"
brigade shut 'em down!!

Must be late...I'm rambling again. (Still?)
