Well, I've now tried to install a *fourth* MC into the '85
ur-Q and FAILED! #1 was from PAP and didn't fit the
booster, was 40mm diam where the booster and
original MC is 35mm. #2 was from Robbins, same
problem. #3 was used from Chris Sanborn, no go,
fit the booster OK but had buggered threads on
one brake line fitting. #4 was from Carlsen, and was
to fit the early ur-Qs, NOPE, still 40mm diam where
I need 35mm. The first 2 MCs were for the later (85)
  ur-Qs and the 5000TQs. What's a Q-head to do?
Where the H*ll can I get the CORRECT MC for
  this one-off? HELP!
