blasphemy

I went out to a car dealer today, to look at a 1991 Mitsubishi
Galant VR-4 today. If you are unfamiliar with this car, it is a 4-cyl,
16valve DOHC, turbo (eclipse/talon engine), AWD, ABS, 4-wheel steering
sports sedan. It looked and sounded pretty cool, so I took it out for a
test drive. It was pretty cool, had plenty of power, and I liked the 4-ws
feature. After driving it, I decided the ride wasn't that great, and it
just didn't feel as classy as my 100Q. I suppose it would be a pretty
cool car to have, but I'd rather stick to my '90 100Q... besides that, I
wouldn't want a car that will self-destruct by 150k mi, and since I would
upgrade the power, it would probably self destruct long before that. Oh
well. One interesting thing I noticed during this experiance, was that
the salesguy I was talking to had to put some gas in the car, and he put
85 octane in it...even the manual says to put 87 at the minimum, and 91
is a lot better. When I pushed it really hard, it pinged like a motha.. I
told the guy to put better fuel in it. Sure it's a Mitsubishi, but still,
wouldn't want to toast a perfectly good car.
(redemption) The main reaason I decided to forgo the VR-4, is I
decided I will get a (somewhat) low-mi '89 200TQ, and upgrade it 60-80+
HP. After I buy this computer/spring (overpriced) upgrade, I will go with
a new turbo, either an RS2 or S4 turbo.
speaking of which, I recall hearing about the boost upgrade with
a cheap pressure regulator - did this function as planned? What kind of
safety features am I loosing? Estimated HP?
Thanks for the info on the mod

So there you have it - sin, confession, redemption.
