TQC diff mounts

My '88 TQC has begun to develop a slightly "rubbery" feel when going to or from
over-run at about 2000rpm in 2nd gear. There is no transmission clunk, but more
of a springy feel to the take-up in the transmission.

Could this be a worn rubber mounting bush on the transmission somewhere? I was
wondering if the mounting rubbers for the rear-diff are likely to be shot. Are
these known to be a problem (the car has done >100K miles)?

Is this a common quattro problem (or even a feature)?
