I was ready to take the car into the shop for some valve train work because
the lifters were so damn noisy.  It turned out to be that I tried running
20W-50 in the car and the oil is too thick to get through all of the oil
passages and therefore causes lots of noise.  I switched to 10W-40 and 85%
of the noise went away!

Life is too short to have noisly lifters...
