200T Front End Noise

My '90 200 Turbo has a grinding noise in the front end. It happens whenever 
the wheel is turned to the right from center and comes from the left front 
wheel. It does not happen when turning left.

Any clues on what it might be? My guess is either a wheel bearing or a CV 
joint. I have replaced CV joints on other cars and I assume this car is 
similar. Has anyone ever replaced a wheel bearing on one of these cars 
(5000, 100 or 200)? Is this a job for the shadetree mechanic or are 
expensive special tools required?
