Tire oops: XGT V4

Q-listers--

many of you may remember my previous accolades about these tires.  well,
now's the time for me to take them back!  RF tire decided to separate a belt
this weekend, although I'm guessing I contributed significantly to that
occurence. 

I went to a BMW club driver ed session this weekend (separate post).  Through
all the morning drills and afternoon track sessions everything was fine.  did
all the proper warm ups, cool downs, etc. On the way home, though, a major
vibration developed in the steering wheel at speed;  at very slow speed, this
showed up as a jerky motion in the steering wheel.

I guess I'll be looking for some new rubber this week...probably some basic
street tires this time, so I have an excuse to get those 16 or 17 wheels &
tires for the track next year!  There's a recent thread on tires recs:  if
you're going to use your tires like I've been (daily use + track)--you may
not want the XGT V4.  To be fair, this was the 4th track day on these tires,
probably about 200-300 miles on track and another 18k road--in hindsight,
that might be a bit much to expect from any tire!

other than this tire problem, the day was great fun! (oh yeah--educational
too!)
