Running higher octane fuel will not in and of itself
result in higher boost pressures, it merely *permits*
higher boost pressures without knock. You must
alter the behaviour of the WG and/or have a boost
control system (CPU) that will increase boost pressure
as a function of fuel quality in addition to controlling
ignition timing. Later 5000 turbos can increase the
boost presure this way (actually, I think decrease boost
if knock is detected), but only within very strict limits
designed into the boost control mechanism. You still
will need a stiffer WG spring and/or something like
the pressure regulator discussed here to add to
the resistance of the spring and achieve substantial
increases in boost pressures.
