BMW 530i caliper conversion

Well, I tried it this morning ... and it won't work.  The outer side of the
caliper body is too thick to clear the inside of the wheel without adding a
3/8" to 1/2" spacer between it and the rotor.  Although this is easy enough
to do, it would cause my 7x15 wheels to rub on the fender lips and screw up
the suspension geometry slightly.

I guess cost isn't the only reason so many manufacturers are using floating
calipers these days as they're a lot easier to package inside a wheel using
a lot of negative offset (the BMW 530i wheel is 22mm and my 5k is 45mm).

Oh, well ... back to the drawing board/salvage yard.
