The only explanation that I can think of is that water got in through the
bleed valve and over a period of time has rusted the slave cylinder around
the valve seat. This rust probably is preventing the fluid from coming out
even under pressure. Eventually, the slave cylinder seals will get
damaged and leak. You may want to consider replacing the slave cylinder.
You can't have a dry clutch line and cylinders; the clutch wouldn't work.
The slave can be removed without removing the tranny. It is held in
place by a spring pin that needs to be driven out with a punch. Its
hard to get at. The Bentley manual shows the location and procedure.
The protective rubber cap on the slave bleed valve has been missing on
my car too. I should do something about it. Does anyone know if these
caps are available?
