Info needed on '91 Quattro Coupe

Hi-

I've found a '91 Quattro coupe at a local dealer.
I know next to nothing about these cars (but i've read some of the FAQ material)

I'm attracted to the car primarily for it's AWD, as roads here in Cleveland
can get pretty treacherous.

I'm hesitant because of the age and the possibilty of expensive repairs.

What should I be particularly watchful of on this car?

Will repairs break me?

What are the Pro's/Con's?

I know I've asked a few very vague questions, but perhaps one of you will
take pity on this bewildered soul.
