Couple weeks ago, we had a thread about max tire pressures (I'll come back to
this).
Last week, you might recall I had a Problem w/ my old tires (XGT-V4)--course,
as one person said, if I separated a belt, then by definition, I was having a
good time.
Which brings me to my new shoes--Dunlop D60A2. Had them installed last
weekend--car really quieted down with these, compared to the Michelins.
Better ride, too. They're H-rated (instead of V) and are more vague with
turn-in. That's OK--I've vowed to get 16" or 17" RE71s or D40M2s or SP8000s
before I take this car to the track again (or get my Carrera!). The real
question, though, is about max tire pressures. With the XGT-V4, the max tire
pressure was 44psi. With the D60A2, its only 36psi. Both tires have the
same load rating, same size, etc. Anyone know what's going on here? what
happens if I pump up this Dunlop to say, 39 or 40 psi, esp in front, where,
as Eliot notes, it helps?
