Re: No Power Brakes 84' 5kt
Thanks all for the input so far. The consensus seems to be that I need a
Brake Pressure Accumulator. Someone asked if I knew steering and brake
systems are seperate. I do realize it but things become confusing when the
servo is involved. I bled the brakes, not because I thought it would fix
the problem but because I thought I might be on my way the dealership.
They have a tendency to want to fix the easy obvious stuff like fluid, pads,
and rotors, (all of which I need) before they get to the stuff that I can't
do. I'm learning how to keep the brake pressure "accumulated" as I drive the
car in this condition. I didn't learn consiously, I think I just got tired
of the beeping. This weekend I might try to put the rear pads on. I noticed
they were just about gone when I was bleeding them last weekend. Does anyone
have any suggestions about where to purchase the accumulator? How much I
should expect to pay? Is "good used" good enough for this part. I don't
expect to take this car to 300,000 miles so it won't need to last forever.
TIA
