you must be talking about the cooling within the block, because one of the
things that i really hated about the earlier 5 cylinder cars was the tiny
side mounted radiator with a fan roar louder than a F16.. ok, i'm
exaggerating.. :)
on my 4KCSQ the a/c would frequently get overriden on a hot day because
that $#%^&* excuse of a radiator was insufficient to handle engine and
A/C.. and after even a moderately short drive the thing would run just
about forever.. the neighbors always thought that it was strange.. maybe
something was wrong with my car, but i doubt it.
one reason why i chose the V8 over the 200TQ 20V at that time was because
the V8 had a real radiator and more than adequate cooling.. and..
and.. and.. it didn't need to have the fan run after a drive in hot
weather .... i'm sure bart at this point will extoll the virtues of a
certain air/oil cooled engine... :)
it's nice to see that with the new A4 and the 100/A6 this problem was
addressed. the A4, like the V8 has one engine driven fan and one
electric.
