Help with 200QT wagon, '89

First off, what a great community of Audi enthusiasts!
Second, please help! I am the proud new owner of a '89 200QT wagon, 52K
miles. Used to own a marvelous 86GT Coupe w/sway bars, bilsteins, 15x7 Ronals
and 205/50's, leather interior. In any case, I want to do a few things to the
wagon. Namely, increase HP and handling. I am looking at chips, any
suggestions/cautions?
Also, starting with wheels/tires, what do you suggest? The OE is 15x6 BBS
type wheels with 205/60's. I would like to go to a 16x7 or 16x7.5. Should I
bump to 225/55 or 225/50/16's? Or go to 17's? With the Coupe, going from 14x6
on 195/60's to 15x7 on 205/50's was an astounding difference in cornering
flatness and grip. The wagon has very flat handling (much less
understeer/lean) than the Coupe, but I'm looking for more grip and reducing
lean. I would love to put S4 wheels or wheels from the RS wagon (aka Porsche)
but I don't know if either would fit. Also, the new A4 has some beautiful 16"
wheels.

And-does anyone have performance tests/specs of the '89 Qwagon w/turbo? The
sedan? I don't even know what it weighs. I know it listed for $37,500.

I will conclude by saying that the wagon is an amazing piece of engineering.
The rear wheel wells, for instance, have very limited intrusion into the
cargo area. The shocks are all but hidden-there is no evidence of their
location from the inside of the car. The aerodynamics are amazing. At 80, you
have to really apply the brakes to slow down; it just flows along. And even
though it is much bigger, has the turbo, etc, my gas mileage has gone from 19
to 20 for the coupe to 23 to 24 for the wagon! Also the rear seatbelts are
integrated into the rear seats--which fold down with a simply flip of a
lever. Just an incredibly engineered car. I wonder how they made a profit!

Thanks! TMEIN@AOL.COM
