OK, there have been a lot of discussions here about tires...

It would appear that money is no object to anyone on the list *grin*
since $$$ is never mentioned.  However, my bank has recently
informed me that I am only allowed to withdraw what I put into
my accounts.  Damn.  SO...

I live in Chicago, lots of rain, light-medium snow, road-salt, 
potholes out the wah-zoo.  (Although they're fixing more roads
due to the upcoming Demo. Convention)  What tires are best for the above
conditions, while remaining in my relatively low budget of $200-$250???

I have an '84 4000s, 1.8L 5spd.
