There can be only one explanation for this one...  At the light, he blew 
his engine trying to launch it, therefore 'smoking' the GN. If a 20V beat 
a GN, the Gn wasnt trying or there was something seriously wrong with it. 
I spent a lot of time in both cars, and beleive me, there is no contest.
