Tracked down a 4000CSQ

Details:

87, black, good condition, 107k miles. 2nd owner, bought it from
a friend who just sold him a grey market M6 (friend was original
owner). Sounds promising except for a few things:

- interior: how much longer can a driver's seat be expected to
hold up? I know my GLI's seat at 150k is shot (though I found a
replacement). How about the interior in general?

- rust/body: he says there is a bubbling spot on the hood and some
rust near one of the rear taillights. I think all 87s had a
galvanized body, so there should not be any rust unless there was
  body work done, right?

- VIN/engine: is there an easy way of checking for the 'special'
130hp engine that was in the commemorative edition late 87 models?

- price - he is asking $4500, though he says he regrets turning down
offers of $3500 and $3800 since he didn't get any higher offers.
I actually called a week after the ad came out on a whim.
I was thinking somewhere around $4000 depending on what shape I think
the car is in - what do you think? The prices for 4000Qs seem
very inflated to me, at least compared to what I see being offered
for other Audis (especially non-q models).

- ski sack: if it doesn't have a ski sack, is it very difficult to
retrofit one? In the Jetta this is a simple task, but if the gas
tank in the 4000 is like the one in the 90, I think it will have
  to be replaced right?

Any other tips/hints are appreciated. I would probably be selling my
GLI to get this 4000, which I consider a step up. Although I have
to question the wisdom of going from a 150k mile car to a 107k mile
car, especially since I drive about 20k a year. Still, can't afford
a new A4, so if I want a quattro, looks like this is the way to go.
