Lights & Tech Bulletins

Scott, I tend to agree - however, the US lights with 100W high-lamps
are better than the US lights without higher wattage. I have Cibie
Z-beams in my 83 280ZX, and they are incredible!...clear vision about
2/3 mile down the road, and such a good lens I can see the lens-flute
pattern in the light beams ahead. By comparison, the Audi-Hellas are about like
strapping two flashlights to the hood. At least putting 100W lamps
in them buys a bit more vision - perhaps equaling a standard US
factory headlight from @1985. (Granted, part of that light is in the trees
beside the road.) I sure wish Cibie made a replacement light - or
that someone made a housing which could replace the factory light and
contain a smaller, better quality headlight. If I were a fiberglass
wizard, I'd have a run at this myself.

I plan to add small Hellas in a driving pattern below the bumper
soon.

Yes, they are - you can order them direct from Audi. I don't recall
where I got the info - but I THINK you can check the owner's manual
for the address/phone. If no one can remember more precisely, I'll
use the digest post of this message as a reminder to look it up and
post it.
