Actually the timing of this is almost perfect, since people in the US
have recently just finished a new car binge with record sales for
many manufacturers and in general the new car is safer than the old
so . .
In a few years we can tie the decrease in the bad hiway statistics
(injuries etc.) to the increase in the speed limits - kind of like what the
speed
haters did to us in the 70s
