Around Baltimore, they've just raised the speed limit to 65 on the highways. I
personally am glad that they have NOT raised the limit on the D.C. beltway I
drive on from MD to VA every day. Reason? Now in Baltimore, you can't go more
than 65 at all. There are REO's (tm Bob Meyers) all over the place making sure
you don't go above the new speed limit. The Beltway from MD to VA, if you're
doing 65 you're getting run over by everyone else, no matter what lane you're
in. When I drive in in the morning, I do 70 - 80 and DON'T PASS ANYONE. Cops
are out there, but they only mess with you if you're going faster than the flow
of traffic, which would require you to drive on the shoulders because there are
simply too many cars to go any faster than normal traffic flow. YMMV.
