Well here in NJ, a couple of days ago Governer Whitman announced
she would veto a bill to raise the speed limit to 65 on NJ rural
multilane highways. This despite a recent survey which showed only
15% of drivers claim to obey the 55mph limit. Her cited reasons - 
safety, NJ's status as the densest populated state in the US, and
the opposition of the NJ state police to any increase.

IMHO, when it comes to traffic, driving-safety etc., Gov. Whitman is 
an ignorant and confused person. 

Any NJ netters, please remember this when the next gubernatorials come around.
