Re: Worst Car Screw Up

Funny stories, reminds me of the time (1969) I was adjusting valves on my
(first car) 55 Chev.-327/365hp, had the covers off and my brother needed to
pull his car out of my parent's driveway. I was blocking him. No big deal,
valve covers ain't moving parts. So I took my time backing out, kept the
engine running while he took his time pulling out, then pulled mine back in,
sat there revving the engine a little-nothing like the sound of a Holley 3
barrel carb kicking in, that's right A THREE BARREL. Anyway I was shocked as
s**t to find the sides of the engine, the wheel wells, and worst of all Mom's
driveway bathed in the black stuff-of coarse-the driveway was just sealed a
few days earlier. I was banished to street parking for a long time after
that. When I finally was allowed back in the driveway, I had my trans fluid
"screw up" but that's another story.
