Stumped on 4000q Troubles

My 4000q has been a great car so far.(118000kms)
I bought the car used two years ago and have been
repairing the neglect of the previous owner.

But I have some troubles that have stumped me...

The brakes have always been spongy and numb, even for
a VAG product. Now with the leaking brake bias valve I am
thinking of new lines, agressive brake pads. Anybody else 
gone through this messy job and gotten good results?

Speedometer flutter at low speeds, especially when very cold
ie -25c. I lubed the speedo cable but no real difference.

Lastly ... the screaming wiper motor !!! My last three VAG cars
have howled when turning on the wipers on cold days. If you 
let them cycle the motor/wiper assembly keeps howling in 
protest till turned off. The second time is always quiet !!!!
I am getting used too it but it startles the passengers and 
put my Audi in a bad light. Help !!!
