Re: qtc

Adam,

You should go get the turbo quattro coupe FAQ that sits in the archive at
coimbra.ans.net. I have put in a bunch of info in there that you are looking
for.
They were produced from 81 to 91 and brought into the US 82 to 85. The
import numbers for the US are MY82/83 - 525, MY84-65, MY85-73, MY86-1.
Excluding the 86, 84s are the rarest. 85s seem to be the most sought after.
They came in a rainbow of colors.

The prices are all over the board depending on year and condition, <$4k
to >$20k. There is a red 85 in autoweek for $13.8k this week. There are
higher concentrations of TQCs in MN, CO and CA. The primary options
are sunroof, rear wiper, heated seats and leather interior. You might find
some 82/83s with brown velour interiors. I have only seen 84s and 85s
with leather.

The modifications to these cars include computer chips, turbo upgrades,
struts and springs, swaybars, euro headlights, big valve heads, camshafts,
overbored engines, stroker engines, etc. You can even go all the way and
transplant a 91 200 20V turbo engine into one. Only the size of your wallet
is
the limiting factor.

Hope this helps.
