I read an interesting blurb in EC a few months ago.
It seems that years ago the BMW M5 was being touted as a "future classic",
and a lot of people bought them. So many that BMW made some more to keep
up with demand.
Well, those extras somehow "ruined" the market for the M5 as a
collectible classic, and some wiseguy started a class-action suit
against BMW for over-producing the cars and reducing their resale
values for those early folks who bought them as collectibles.
BMW settled, rather than take the case to court. M5 owners in the
US are entitled to some money from BMW to "compensate" them for
this "loss".
Great country, huh?
