Still, the use of 321 or Ti (and you do have Ti on your car exh, the four
downpipe studs are titanium,BTW) will not affect the results of the heat, in
fact, it might augment the prollum........ When you shut the car down, any
use of heat transfer/insulating/shielding can become your enemy...... If you
insulate everything from the head back for example, here's what happens....
Physics show that heat will find something cooler than the source to
dissipate... In other words, your engine oil, antifreeze, aluminum head,
turbo bearings, air........... Now if you wrapped the whole exhaust system
you are concentrating your blow torch on some of the more critical things
like the bearings for the turbo and the oil, and minimizing or worse yet heat
soaking things like antifreeze, head or turbo..... I would have less
reservations if one was to install a afterrun oil system, but also would
question the gains befor the turbine anyhow........ Heat insulator while
running good, insulating heat while off - not good......
