Fog/Driving Lights

My aero lights, as posted earlier, for my 89 200QTW are more aero than
effective. One gracious subscriber came up with a miracle slurry (rice,
baking soda and distilled water) as I recall. I haven't done this yet.

I'm wondering about fog/driving lights. As dreaded standard time is upon us,
I suddenly felt blind while driving home tonight, into oncoming lights with a
sort of drive by braille feeling. I imagine driving lights are supposed to
help. What kind do you guys recommend? Are there some OE Audi sets? With
nifty stock switches, harnesses, etc? That don't cost one month's rent? How
about aftermarket? I'm not sure if I want the PIAA bugeyes that are more
popular than Borbet wheels; maybe Hella rectangulars would be more germanic.

How about mounting? I was thinking on top of the front bumper. Will this
screw up air flow-as aerodynamics seem so essential to the functionality of
the auto. ANy suggestions?

Also-have you tried the "$19.95 halogen replacement bulbs" advertised in the
back of mags? They are for "off road" use only.

Thanks
