I have the 2.226 Audi 5 in my VW.  The Idle Stabilizer is located just 
beside the throttle linkage above the intake manifold.  It's cylindrical 
and is about the size of ... say ... an empty toilet paper tube.  There's 
a plug in the end of it with wires going off to la la land.  Hope you 
find it - it's probably completely different on the Audis.
