I'm totally unfamiliar with the '93 90CS, but you may be dealing with
something very similar to Bob Myers' and Mike LaRosa's ordeal with
speedo flakiness on their '89 200s.  If the tach slides into a rigid
pc board with built in cheap connectors, you might want to read Bob's
post from yesterday and see if it wouldn't solve your problem too.
