They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
BUT, it gives the V8 a bad rep when Rice Burners
and various others start telling everyone how they
    smoked a V8Q.

    When I owned a 500SEL (Euro,FAST) I rebadged it,
I put 300SDL and DIESEL badge on the back, I
even lightly coated the rear end with fireplace
soot to make it look legit, now THAT was a fun
rebadge, you should see the looks on some of the
mama's boys when they got blown away by a
    Diesel....albeit a quiet one. ;-) I especially
took pride in the ARPA sticker I put on the back.
(Although I have many decades before they'll
    accept my application.

The practice of rebadging seems more at home with
the "prestige" cars, I had to laugh at an
"SL600" the other day, it was a rebadged SL300,
when I asked the owner when Mercedes downsized
the 600 and installed 6 bangers...he gave me
a snarling look and mumbled something to his gf.

PS: Noticed a V8 pearl/BBS wheels parked right behind
mine at he NE autoshow on Friday, was that someone
    one the list??

... Nothing is so smiple that it can't get screwed up.
