Questions about engine oil

I had this same problem with some 10w30 oil.. It was immediatly solved by
switching to 15w40. I had this problem in the early summer. Now I use a
10w30 synthetic, and it works fine, 4+ bar oil pressure even when hot... but
remember, the ambient temperature is now a lot lower here - ~40 to 50 deg. F
tops. I liked the 5w50 (syn) I had in it, and the 15w40 was extremly good
also, but I think for winter I will go with a lower viscosity oil that works
'pretty well'. BTW - the 5w50 synthetic was more like a 50w oil when cold
IMHO, and I didn't like the idea of lessened protection. I will try 5w50
again soon, to see if they have worked the bugs out of it.
