Re: Hi-beam switch going bad?
They're reaaallll expensive-the one for my 5kCST costs about $200. My high
beam switch stuck in the high beam position, so whenever you had the
headlights on, the highbeams came on. We made a little stick to wedge the
switch into the right position, but every time you used the turn signal, the
stick fell out...
But we unsoldered it, drilled out the rivets, disasembled it, and found the
end of the stalk was broken! Inside the stalk is a stiff spring and a
roller-the roller rides on some bumps to make it pop into place. We
reinforced the stalk with fiberglass(overkill, but hey-works great now!) If
anybody has this problem I will send more detailed instructions.
You might have a similar problem. I don't know what you mean by "fiddling".
What happens when you pull the stalk back? Or does the 90 have a momentary
position instead of the 2 position 3rd momentary on the 5k?
