093 adapater continued...

To head off any more responses, Yes, I know that moving the gearbox rearward
will increase the wear on the CV joints and cost a little bit of power but I
am not concerned with that (even with two drivers per event, the car's total
running time for the season probably won't amount to five hours so replacing
the CV joints prematurely isn't a big concern). It may also turn out that a
3/8" aluminum plate is strong enough and a pair of these is only .75" thick,
which should help reduce any CV joint problems further. Lastly, I know that
what I've proposed is a bit "donald-duck" (that's Swedish for "mickey-mouse"
... it's a long story) but I don't have an unlimited budget and this appears
to be the most cost-effective solution I can muster (unless, of course, some
kind person wishes to offer me $pon$or$ship or free machine work!). :^)
