'91 200 TQW
Fellow Audians;
After much searching and thanks (many thanks) to ScottB2460@aol.com, I believe I
have found "my" '91 200TQ20V. It's a "wagon" (bonus) and seems to be in good
shape. The dealer put new 215/60/R15 Toyo tires that are speed rated for 135mph
on the car. I indicated that I had never heard of Toyo tires and stated that a
car that is capable of 148mph (see, C&D 11/90, pg. 65) should have V rated 150
mph tires. The dealer assured me that American Audi's have a speed governor that
holds top speed below 125mph, so the tires are fine. Now, I may have my tire
ratings wrong (are V's good for 150mph?) however, this speed governor claim is
contary to everything I have ever read about Audis and particularly a '91
200TQ20V. Comments on Speed Govenors, Toyos and tire speed ratings please.
I had a Buyers inspection done and as with all used cars, there were a few
problems and I need some help/comments with/on a couple of them. Oil pressure
switch (what is it and what does it do?) Power steering leak at the reservoir
(the ps pump was replaced, so what's this?) Many thanks!
