Hello & lots of questions

Hello everyone!

I recently joined this list upon buying a '92 100 CSQ AT. Already got
lots of useful info from the archives and from the traffic ... Thanks!

The car seems in great condition but there were of course some
nits, some now fixed. (BTW, one of the most useful tips was to deal
with Linda@Carlsen (10 min away from where I work) who indeed was very
helpful plus the discount was nice. In fact I mailed an appreciation
note to her boss -- she is swamped with internauts.)

Still I have a bunch of questions:

1. The momentary-on position ("flashing high") on the infamous
high/low light switch does not work. The high works fine and the low
works fine. This is puzzling since it seems the the standard failure
mode is high on at all times. Any suggestion beyond "live with it"
and "replace the switch"? (BTW, there is no Bentley yet for this
model...)

2. What are the lighting upgrades possible on this model? Sources?

3. Is there a direct way to connect a CD to the standard Bose head
unit? A Crutchfield rep said either to replace the entire head unit
(they sell a harness for this) or use a CD changer via FM. Of course
you can also run a portable CD unit via a cassette adapter. I don't
like any of this. What I'd like, if possible, is to do some surgery
on the wiring and mount a standard connector to the amps ...

3. Two out of the four push buttons on the seat memory switch are
missing. The remaining buttons seem to have practically no retainer --
the missing ones are probably in a vacuum cleaner bag ... Of course
you can't buy just the buttons from Audi, you have to buy the entire
switch for $80. Any source for such micro parts?

4. I'd like to replace the standard front center armrest with the phone
storage armrest. (For the storage not for the phone...) Audi probably thinks
I want an arm not an armrest since they want $821 for it! This is
more than 2% of the original list for the entire car! What's the
recommended junkyard for such parts?

5. I want an extra transmitter key. Audi wants $100 or so. This is
fair since it must cost some $5 to produce one (}-: Any suggestions?
Are these, or any other parts cheaper in Germany?

6. <Enter [even more] obsessive-compulsive mode> Any source for
original sticker decals? In particular I want the sticker that goes
on the fuel tank flap and states gas requirements and recommended tire
pressure ...

Many thanks for any help,
