I have the Audi "Maintenance 1992" brochure (item 921.564.440.21)...I
presume this is what you are talking about. It says somewhere "Alle
Audi-Modelle Nordamerika/English" but I believe it is in fact only for
the V6 and the V8. It says "In case of severe conditions, such as
extremely high temperature, continuous mountain driving,
trailer-towing, predominantly stop-and-go traffic conditions, it is
necessary to change the ATF every 30,000 miles/48,000 km. During
this time the pan and strainer should be cleaned and the gasket
replaced" For the V8 the change is always required. These "severe
conditions" don't seem so severe -- most of us probably qualify. So I
think you should do it ...

WRT owner's manuals I thought there is a 100 CSQ manual -- in fact I
have one on order, but maybe there is some confusion. I bought my 100
CSQ from a VW (but not AUDI) dealer. Seeing that I like paper the
sales guy got me two owner manuals (no doubt swiped from other cars in
the past) but not the right one: I got the 1992 Audi V8 quattro
(921.561.441.21) and the 1992 Audi 100 (921.561.444.21) ... I'll
check the part number on my order when I'll get a chance ...
