No surprise that there is some family resemblance between the Audi TT and the
VW Concept 1; one of the key designers of the Concept 1 went on to design the
TT.

BTW, both the C1 and TT have American roots.  They origniated in the Audi
Design Center in Simi Valley, CA (although the TT was finished in Germany).

As to a Targa top, maybe the Roadster version of the TT (called the TTS as a
show car in Tokyo) would satisfy your craving for fresh air.  It will also be
produced in 1998.
