To remove the cover of the factory Blaupunkt unit, just pry (carefully) at the slots
around the outside edge with a small screwdriver.  The cover just snaps on.
   Also, I have had a problem with two of the three Audis that I have owned where
one or both of the rear speakers have cut out intermittently.  This was a real bear
to find, but it turned out to be poor contacts in the rear  headphone outlet box.
I repaired the problem by disassembling the headphone box and cleaning the
contacts on the speaker/headphone switch.
