Agreed...
The best "subs" i've heard are plates with 2 6 in" on them.  A pair of 
these (total of 4 6") sounded absolutely spectacular.  And they only need 
.5 cu.ft. of enclosure space.  Who ever said bigger was better.

No offence, its just my humble opinion (whatever that's worth).  I was 
just suprised that you used stock speakers, with the other gear you use.  
The alpine amp is one of the best (disclaimer).  No hard feelings?
