There was a string about this very subject on the list about a month
ago. My advice is simply to disable the speakers and put components in
the doors. In my opinion, the dash isn't the best place for speakers
anyways. They do give you great imaging, but the reflection off the
glass reack havock on the frequency response. Also, if you put tweeters
in the stock location and woofers in the door, which is a popular
configuration, the two speakers are far apart and on completely different
axies, both no-no's. Also, if you do decide to keep using the stock full
ranges, make sure they have a high-pass filter of, say 100Hz, or more to
keep them from making flatulant noises.

My problem is bringing warm CD's from the house into a cold car, they fog
up and the laser can't focus on those little pits. But, then again, I
have a Kenwood 8^(

Wow, I'm flattered. I've never been called a pro before, just a nut.
Audio is my passion. I'm studying electrical engineering to make it my
career. Then I'll be a pro, but that's a long way in the future. Until
then I just give advice (whatever that's worth)

Well, my jetta must be the vehicle of the minor dieties.
