Are you sure it isn't the gear ratios?  Break out your calculator and crunch
a few numbers ... the 4kq is geared quite a bit lower than either the Coupes
or FWD 4ks and, as you know, drive wheels don't really care where the torque
comes from, be it the engine or the gearbox.
