Not entirely true. My installer used the speaker amps in the back
in my '89 100Q. You need an impedance matcher, and will need to
use the fader control to keep the power up front a little bit.
This gives some electrical whine under heavy load, but not too bad.
If I want, I could bypass the amps fairly easily by cutting the
actual wires that go to the speaker and connecting right to them.
But using the amp sounds pretty good.
