Knock sensors for UrQ ECU

Probst ( pg 37) talks about a separate Bosch KLR knock control unit, used on
some Motronic systems.  I wonder if this could be adapted to our cars. 

Which cars used the "KLR" knock controller? Is there any info available on
it?

Knock sensing and boost control are used on many newer cars than the UrQ,
perhaps there are other almost ready made solutions available, that could be
adapted.

Is the european UrQ computer the same as the US model?
