Amplified Antennas

I noticed that there were a couple people having problems with their antennas
recently.  Well mine just went out too.  The motor on the antenna on my '86
4kcsq was continuing to run too long and eventually not going all the way up
or down.  My husband took it apart and did his best to fix it to no avail.
 So, we put a call into Carlsen and found the list price has gone up to a
wopping $469!  Their 10% above cost price was $336.  Then I put a call into
Import Parts Connection (IPC - they recently started advertising in the
Quattro club newsletter), Rod gave me the club discount on their
price....what a difference!  Can you believe $199.50?  This is the oem part
taken from the part number I gave him, it is the stock Fuba amplified
antenna.  I called Carlsen back and they said to go with IPC, they couldn't
even match that price on an aftermarket antenna.  So, if any of you out there
need to replace your amplified antenna give IPC a call at 1/800-472-1144 for
orders and 209/225-2900 for inquiries.  The part number on this antenna is
811-035-509 (I'm not sure if this is for the 4kcsq only or not).
