4QS owner seeks enlightenment

I doubt that Zen or Buddism will help :), so maybe the Audi guru's on the
list can help. I've been trying to find out what a strange button on my
console is.

The car is an 85 4QS with power windows. I bought the car used without any
manuals (not even the owners' guide) >:-(

There's a squarish button between the left and right sets of pwr window
switches. When I press it...zip , nada, nothing. Before I proceed to
troubleshoot it, perhaps other 4QS owners can enlighten me.
