Audi -> VW brake swap?

Perhaps this is blasphemy on this list, but I'll ask anyway. I'll just put
my nomex undies on :-)

Has anyone given thought to whether the vented rotors and calipers off an 85
4Qs would be a bolt-on fit to the A2 series Golf/Jetta's?

I was comparing the brakes on my cars the other day and wondered if that
would work. They *look* like they'd fit. It would be an alternative to
upgrading the stock, non-GTI brakes.

Just a thought....
